Here is the article I mentioned at the last meeting. It's a bit long, but absolutely worth the read and a few tears.
Enjoy:

Banning the Burqa

I would love to read your thoughts on this article. Also it is interesting to note the false use of the term burqa.

Welcome!
Hello Wise Womyn! (I used the y for you Rachel!)
Last night was wonderful and I look forward to the second meeting of P.O.W.E.R- People Organized for Women's Enlightened Readings!
The next meeting is scheduled for Thursday September 24, 7:30 p.m.
The half hour will be for food and greeting and we will start the book discussion at 8pm
Alysia Puma is hosting: The address will be posted at a later date
(Not sure if we should post addresses on public blogs...?)
The books for the next meeting are:
- Bunny Tales: Behind Closed Doors at the Playboy mansion, by Izabella St. James
- Self-Made Man: One Woman's Journey into Manhood and Back, by Norah Vincent
Feel free to read both or just one, we believe there will be enough links in the books to create a unified woven discussion.
Also please use this blog to post anything you would like! This is our communal space!
Jen!
